Pitch 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejQIzVH3mN4&feature=youtu.be I added how big the market was, took the fluff out of my intro, and tried to make all my points more concise/only shared what I thought truly mattered.  I tried to fix everything Dr. Pryor provided me in his feedback.

18A – Create a Customer Avatar

Image
My customer is a college aged girl who has hobbies of being active, on the go, and involved on campus such as in sororities and big organizations.  My customer drives a nice car like a Jeep Wranglers or any kind of sedan or SUV--usually black or white.  They watch shows on Netflix like Grey's Anatomy and shows on cable like The Bachelor.  They do not have children, but may have pets like a cat or a dog with their roommates.  They like reading books that are realistic fiction, but don't read much leisurely as they spend a lot of time studying and going out with their friends.   They don't pay much attention to politics.  They are thought of as young, but feel like they are older.  They like fashion and spending some money often on accessories and clothing. I honestly made the customer avatar to look like me and a lot of my friends because I think them and myself represent who would buy the product.  I don't think it's a coincidence becau...

15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

I interviewed three of my friends that fit the segment I identified that I did not interview last time.  They already know about my product because I have made a test product and I use it myself everyday.  I asked them simple but important questions: When buying jewelry, what do you consider first?  Price or Quality? All of the friends I interviewed said ultimately price, but they all also say that it depends on what they are looking for.  There are jewelry pieces out there (name-brand) they would spend more money on for a special occasion, but being a college student, they look at price first most of the time. When buying jewelry, would you rather shop in-store or online? 2/3 of my friends said in-store while one said online--I would've said online.  I only shop with brands I know usually that are reputable and there isn't a lot of shopping options in Gainesville (that I know of) to go in person shopping like I would in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio. ...

16A –What’s Your Secret Sauce?

Five ways that I think my human capital makes me unique: I would say that I have high emotional intelligence--I realize that emotions play an important part in communication and working with others.  Emotions can create conflict, but also solve it.  I am good at reading others' emotions and always pay close attention to how I can make them feel better and also succeed. I also think that I am determined.  I am fortunate to attend UF, but I have had many small "failures" here not getting on sports teams or into organizations, but I let this make me a harder worker instead of giving up.  I think this is an important attribute to have when creating your own business. I believe that I have a skill of being able to picture how things work well together in my head/having a vision for things.  With my product being jewelry, I feel that I can tell what would look good together/the current trends and what people would like. I also believe that when I do things, I mak...

14A – Halfway Reflection

1)  Tenaciousness is a competency.  What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?  I had a hard time keeping up with deadlines my second year at school.  I was involved with a lot on campus and struggled to learn how to balance everything.  Now being in this class when there are multiple assignments every week where each one counts for 1-3% of your grade, I learned how to keep up with deadlines and how much easier it is to do things in advance.  I also learned how to be more involved in something and how much more you can gain from that.  I'm used to watching lectures at home but now I make the effort to go to class and see it in person and I gain so much more from that. 2)  Tenaciousness is also about attitude.  Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two month...

12A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

I was able to interview my friends because I believe my friends are the prime candidates for my segment which I have identified as girls who want to spend their money on fashion and jewelry/people who keep up with trends out of the market of college students, primarily (if not all) female. All of the girls I interviewed have either lost their key several times, know people who have, or keep their key on a ponytail on their wrist in order to prevent this happening.  Myself, along with one of my friends who I have interviewed, have lost their key more than 4 times.  To replace a key to your apartment at the apartment complex we live in is $50.  If you lose your key several times, this number adds up!  They all agreed they would rather buy an inexpensive, bracelet of quality to hold their key so they no longer have to use a ponytail and don't have to worry about ever paying these new key fees again.  This need becomes the most salient when they are going out at nig...

11A – Idea Napkin No. 1

You I love fashion and I believe I have the ability to see how things fit together really well whether it's jewelry or clothing items.  I also love buying gifts for people personalized to what they love and I'm pretty good at picking things out that other people will like.  My aspirations are to graduate UF with different internship experiences to hopefully work in the Health Administration field or the IT field.  If I were to start my business, I feel like I would love doing it because I love making other people happy so I would see my business as a win-win for myself and the customer What are you offering to customers? I am offering the customer a fashionable bracelet that they can personalize with things like their school, birthstone, initials or sorority symbol.  This bracelet has a specific clip to hold their key for when they are on the go and want to have their key secure and easy in reach, but not on something like a ponytail on their wrist. Who are...
