22A – Elevator Pitch No. 3

Most of my feedback was positive.  I think the most constructive comment I got was from Aubrey to smile more and let my personality shine through which I try to do but find a bit difficult because it's not easy to find the perfect medium between being too cheesy and being enthusiastic.  I also think that being "too cheesy" can be powerful in elevator pitches because it makes it memorable.

Every time I've done my elevator pitch I think it has become more concise and clear.  Last time I identified my target market and included the numbers, but I never said the reason for it, so I tried to be more clear this time.  I also tried to talk in a very clear voice so that none of my words were mumbled.  My pitch is completely memorized now.  When I post my pitch, I usually record it about 20 times or more because I am a perfectionist and every time I change a few words around.  I do my pitch for fun now in front of my family and friends to see what they think.

  1. Sydney,

Great work on this elevator pitch! It's certainly a huge improvement over the previous two (which were also great). I'm so glad to see how much more comfortable you've gotten pitching this business and your ideas. I'm also glad you took Aubrey's advice to smile more! Your personality came through in this pitch much more strongly than it did in the previous ones. Excellent post!

  2. Hi Sydney,

I like to see that you made progress on your elevator pitch. I also have trouble during elevator pitches because I do not want to make gestures that seem unnatural. I think you completed the purpose of doing the elevator pitch again, which is to have it memorized and polished. I enjoyed looking at your elevator pitch.
